The Concert for Bangladesh

Adding to his already impressive list of achievements, George Harrison become a pioneer of large-scale benefit concerts when he organized the Concert for Bangladesh with his friend Ravi Shankar. George spent months constantly phoning various artists and companies to actually make the event happen. Two shows were performed on 1 August 1971 which featured appearances by Ravi Shankar, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston and many more.
